Story Time for three-to-five year olds is held every Tuesday morning at 10:30 in the meeting room.
The children and their parents or care-givers are entertained mainly by picture books, but with some poetry, scissor stories,
or drawn stories mixed in. A craft related to the weekly theme completes the session, which generally runs a little longer
than a half hour.
The Wednesday Toddler Tales program, for two-to-three year olds, also takes place in the meeting
room at 10:30. For this group, children must be accompanied by an adult. Stories are geared to the younger age level and are
interspersed with songs and finger-plays. A simple craft activity ends the thirty minutes.
Hallmarks of both programs are flexibility, spontaneity, and a casual atmosphere.
The Summer Reading Club runs from the end of the school year through the first week in August.
Weekly incentive prizes, individual acheivement records, a mysterious quest, entertaining adventures, craft programs, story
times, and the best prizes in town (all donated by local merchants) are the highlights of this seven week program. It is open
to children from the age of two, and participation can be as limited or encompassing as desired.
